Moderation & Appeals Process

We use a combination of:

• Automated Systems: To detect clear violations such as spam, hate speech, or threats.
• Human Moderators: To review user reports and make careful, case-by-case decisions.
• Community Reporting: Users can flag inappropriate content directly within the app or website.

All moderation decisions aim to protect users while respecting freedom of speech within the boundaries of our Community Guidelines.

Moderators may review and take action against:

• Posts or chats containing hate speech, threats, harassment
• Content promoting self-harm or violence
• Doxxing or revealing personal information
• Impersonation, scams, or spam
• Severe misinformation or harmful myths

Actions can include:

• Content removal
• Warning notices
• Temporary suspensions
• Permanent account bans (for severe or repeated violations)

1. Submit an Appeal:
   Email us at 📧 appeals@yoursecret.org with:

   • Your username
   • A description of what happened
   • Why you believe the moderation decision should be reviewed

2. Review by Senior Moderators:
   Appeals are reviewed by a separate team from the original moderators.

3. Response Timeline:
   We aim to respond to all appeals within 5–7 business days.

4. Final Decision:
   Once reviewed, the decision will be final, and you will be notified via email.
